The Old Ship Aground ‘Be Proud of Minehead’ Campaign to celebrate how lucky we all are to Live, Work and Play in this beautiful area of Somerset.
We are inviting you to submit photographic entries that will proudly show everyone why we should all be proud of living in a friendly, vibrant, supportive community beside the sea, surrounded by beautiful countryside, stunning scenery and full of wonderful local wildlife.
The picture entries that you email to us at email@example.com (or you can drop in a digital copy to us) will be uploaded by us to the dedicated Facebook page (any images that are considered inappropriate will not be displayed).
The public likes each month create a top 3 in each category that then go forward to the final shortlist of 21 pictures in each category (7 months x 3 pictures a month) This is then reduced down by a panel of judges to 6 pictures in each category for the final panel judging.
Terms and Conditions:
This competition is open to all amateurs and semi-pro photographers. (Professional photographers who earn a living from Photography can submit pictures for display but they cannot enter the competition categories).
2.Your picture must be taken within a 15 mile radius of Minehead town center.
You can only enter by emailing your entries to firstname.lastname@example.org or providing a digital copy hard copy memory stick etc. We will not accept printed entries. If your entry is in the final selection you will need to provide us with a high res digital copy that is suitable for printing out a large print of your picture. No person employed by The Old Ship Aground, or their immediate family, or anyone associated with The Old Ship Aground is eligible to enter the competition categories. The competition is open from 7th April 2017 to and will run until 7th January 2018. Entries will not be accepted if we cannot identify the entrant. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules.
If you submit a photograph or enter the competition you agree that your photograph may be published on ‘Be Proud of Minehead’ and “The Old Ship Aground” Website & Facebook page and its associated social media accounts and may be used in any publicity.
The name of the winners will be published on “Be Proud of Minehead” and “The Old Ship Aground” Facebook pages after the competition closes.
All entries must be received by the closing date January 7th 2018.
By submitting your photograph for entry into the competition you will retain your copyright and also hereby grant to ‘Be Proud of Minehead’ & ‘The Old Ship Aground’ a royalty free, non assignable, worldwide, non exclusive license to use the photograph for publication for all time.
You warrant that any photograph you submit is your own original work and that you own the copyright and any other relevant rights in such image and you have the permission of any people identifiable in the picture. Entrants confirm that their entry is not defamatory and does not infringe any UK laws. The image must also not have already been professionally commissioned.
Your moral rights will be respected; you will be credited if your photograph is printed.
All personal data provided to ‘Be Proud of Minehead’ & ‘The Old Ship Aground’ in relation to this competition will be used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and you hereby consent to us processing all personal data for the purposes of this competition.
Selected email entries will be published on the Be Proud of Minehead Facebook Page and put to a public vote. The top three images per month in each category – as voted by the public on Facebook by number of likes received will then be entered into the shortlist panel judging. The shortlisted pictures will then go forward to the Final judging.
The final competition entries will be judged by a panel of judges, in combination with a public vote. The judge’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the judge’s decision. We reserve the right to vary or amend these Terms at our sole discretion. Full details will be available on the Facebook page.
There will be a public exhibition of the shortlisted photographic images.
